Building permissions granted by the town of Le Vésinet

Today, the Mayor of Le Vésinet, the town’s Urbanism Department, and Les Architectes de Bâtiment de France granted our team building permissions to install the Joséphine Baker Commemorative Site in the protected public parklands just outside of her former Greater Paris demeure, the villa Beau-Chêne.

With their support, we’re able to advance our work on the life-sized bronze sculptures and ensure that locals and visitors alike will have permanent, educational, publicly accessible art honoring Joséphine Baker - a French-American figure who gave innumerous contributions to Le Vésinet, France, and the United States.

Follow our journey on Instagram at @josephinebakercommemoration as we get closer to unveiling the sculpture site in September 2026.
